Sarah Jayne Fell: My cat "Mary-Jane" passed away suddenly within hours after administering the tick and flea treatment Bravecto.
The autopsy report has ruled out other possible causes of death and underlying conditions, showing healthy organs and body. Results "inconclusive" and the manufacturer of Bravecto denies any possibility that their product resulted in acute death.
Long-hair domestic cat (cross breed Norwegian forest cat) dies within hours after tick and flea treatment.
As there isn't a group for Bravecto for Cats, I am posting this here. My healthy 10-year-old cross breed Norwegian forest cat died in July within hours after administering Bravecto for cats (medium cats).
The autopsy shows no natural cause of death, healthy organs, and no underlying condition. The results have been labelled INCONCLUSIVE. We found her dead curled up in a drawer she liked to sleep in. No visible signs of trauma.
This is following on from a sudden seizure in my 15-year-old Tuxedo cat in April also resulting in acute death. She had been on Bravecto for one year.
Manufacturer MSD has taken no responibility
This medication has only been on the market for cats since last year (in South Africa), so there are not as many known cases for cats as there are for dogs.
Sadly the manufacturer of Bravecto MSD has taken no responsibility for the death of my cat Mary-Jane, even though the autopsy has ruled out other causes of death. I am absolutely certain that Bravecto killed my cat.
